Empowering The Community
MCC is a non-Profit Organization which was founded out of the concern about the plight of children, youth and women affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty in Uriri Sub County in particular and Migori county in general. The Organization was formed in 2008 by a children advocate who was touched by the plight of rural children and women.The good Samaritan Madam Consolate Aluoch started the organization as a way of tackling increasing Child abuse, Youth SRHR, HIV/AIDs Education, Food security and Climatic change, livelihood challenges in Uriri sub county
MCC was spontaneously established on the 17TH April 2008 with 11(eleven) members of which 4(four) were survivors of child abuse, 3 (three) were professionals from different backgrounds in community development and the rest of the 4(four) members were community youth.
The group members had one common interest of supporting the children, youth and women at the community level and the surrounding areas who have been directly or indirectly affected by the HIV/AIDS and poverty.

Our Purpose
The purpose for the establishment of this Organization was to fight against the rising child abuse, high rates of school dropout out especially amongst girls at primary level of education, Limited access to sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights to the Adolescent Limited access to the orphans and the Vulnerable children in the community, high rates of unemployment among the youth, Violation of women’s rights to access land and limited access to economic assets by the women.
Also notable was the rising rate of HIV infection amongst young women and adolescent girls in the Uriri and its neighborhoods.


Why we exist
Our campaign to end SGBV draws on our experience and promotes women’s leadership so as to contribute to social transformation towards gender equality. MCC Promotes leadership and guidance to the children protection and women’s movement: we have been at the forefront of campaigning to end violence against children, making the problem visible as a human rights issue, and a health and social challenge, and placing it on local community agendas. Our campaign to end violence against children draws on our experience and promotes community leadership so as to contribute to social transformation towards gender equality.
